The university library of Leuven, which is located at the Ladeuzeplein since 1921, contains an enormous amount of historical books, about four million. In the tower of the library you can find one of the biggest carillons of Europe, which is played two times a week. Going up the 289 stairs, you’ll pass by a beautiful photo exhibition about its history. Once you arrive at the highest point, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city from the balcony.
